Art in Downtown Naperville
I know it’s back-to-school season, and to round out these posts, I wanted to share some local inspiration! I recently visited downtown Naperville, Illinois, where I saw some pretty amazing art. Artists were sponsored by local businesses to make benches inspired by some literary favorites. From Harry Potter (my personal favorite), the Wizard of Oz, Goodnight Moon, to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, they were some of the coolest pieces of art. They are available to view until September. As a photographer and someone that loves being creative, I always enjoy things that are artistic…they help keep my own creativity flowing, and can always inspire new ideas of my own!
We took a relaxing Saturday, and walked around the beautifully scenic parts of downtown Naperville, and we all found some of our favorite benches! We also had a leisurely lunch and a sweet treat to top the afternoon off. My boys chose ice cream, while Emma & I went for Starbucks. It was the perfect way to spend a half a day with my family. This downtown area has perfect dining and shopping, and you can enjoy those things while of course scoping out the 15 artistic benches scattered throughout. You can view the rest of the art pieces here: Summer Painted Sculptures.
I am so excited to begin working with the Class of 2018! If you haven’t yet found a senior photographer, or you want to get a head start on family photos, please reach out. Although my spots fill quickly, I strive to find the best date available for you.
