We know you’re getting those grad parties underway, and we wanted to share some of our favorite ideas to throw an unforgettable event! Remember that we share some great tips and ideas in our newsletter, which you can opt-in for below (it’s not just photos, so you don’t want to miss out). Here’s six ideas to make your graduation party one for the memory books:
A fun theme: A theme is a great way to tie together some other ideas, games, or decor. It can help keep a central idea running through your event. Our favorite idea is a “Through the Years” theme, which celebrates all you have accomplished! A great way to emphasize these theme would be a photo banner with photos of you or the graduate though each school year. It’s fun for everyone to see the photos and makes a great conversation piece!
Photo Boss: In the flurry of trying to get everything ready, often a photographer is the overlooked detail. Be sure to ask someone specifically to snap photos during your party or open house, and capture every guest, as well as the decor. Of course, hiring a professional is also a great route, and ensures you will get portraits that are clear, well arranged, and will include every guest attending (I’d love to be your event photographer!)
Words of Wisdom: A truly wise graduate knows they can glean wisdom from all their friends and family, and it’s really fun to read what guests share. Have a basket/jar and markers available with small slips of paper so guests can jot down words of wisdom, anecdotes, or memories. This is a fun memento for the senior to take to college to look back on, as well!
Candy Land: A candy-bar is a fun theme and also provides your guests with a souvenir…a bag of candy! Cellophane bags can be found at a local crafts store or the dollar store, and then, fill large glass or plastic containers with various types of candy. Guests can scoop their favorites into a little baggies, and you’ll be covered for favors AND dessert! It’s also really fun to have this table in a color scheme (see below)
Autograph Please:: Put together a photo book for guests to sign or get a photo signing board and have your friends sign their names with memories. It’s a similar idea to a memory/wisdom jar, but it is able to be hung on your wall!
Photo Booth Fun: Add a Photo Booth spot at your party + crazy props, and compile all the images into a book to look back on later!
We hope these ideas have inspired your upcoming grad party ideas, and we also hope you will opt in to our newsletter (below). It just takes a moment, and you won’t miss a single bit of the practical tips and fun that we include!
